Students and Health Insurance

Posted By: Thomas Gillick

Being a college student one of the last things you need to worry about is paying for health insurance in case o fan emergency. Having student loans leads to enough debt but putting medical expenses on top of that can lead to an enormous amount of debt. Accidents happen so the best way to deal with this problem is to be prepared. Quality insurance plans are available especially for college students. The first step to avoid medical expenses is to visit the student health center first and take proper care of yourself. The next step is to try and stay on your family plan by remaining a dependent on your family’s insurance plan. Also it is important to make decide whether or not to use your school’s insurance plan rather then an outside group. Some school plans are extensive while others are limited. If all else fails the best thing to do is to purchase a high deductible health plan. Some plans can be available to students for under $100 a month. The last thing you should be worried about is paying for expensive medical bills when you are at school. More often then not accidents happen so make sure your medical care is well planed out ahead of time.
